- working full-time as a planting designer with ASA Engineering & Consulting, focusing on public spaces and commercial landscapes
- exploring a new region (east Tennessee & north Georgia) looking for cool plants and spectacular views (see photos of my latest adventures here)
- reading the world (thanks, Ann Morgan - basic intent is to read a book by an author from every county) - check my progress here and on my Goodreads
- writing, mostly about gardens, both digital and in print (check for my regular column in Horticulture)
- making art - doing illustration and rendering on comission (send me a message if you'd like to comission something), drawing in pen and pencil
- I'm also pursuing the idea of the latter half of 2018 as a depth year, where I focus on things I've started rather than getting distracted with new pursuits. Check out David Cain's blog posts or the Facebook group for further explanation.
