Framing Life as Theater was part of a studio focusing on Tevereterno in Rome, Italy. This city of Rome has turned its back on the Tiber, This collaborative project examined how to return the River to the city. The primary challenge for the project was the dramatic seasonal fluctuation (up to 30ft of difference between high and low). Framing Life as Theater involved building a multilevel promenade which stacked down to a circular amphitheater. Fluctuation in the river levels would enable different parts of the construct to become active, while other fade back into the River, making the River's change an active part of City life.
